Sixteen years ago, the imperial merchant Zhu clan was slaughtered. Six-year-old Zhu Yan escaped and was rescued by Ye Ruomei's mother, Lady Xie, who brought her to the Ye Estate. From then on, Ye Ruomei and Zhu Yan became inseparable soulmates. Ten years ago, framed for theft, Zhu Yan was caned and driven away by Ye Ruomei. After being cast out, she was nearly killed, then rescued by a trafficker and sold to a silk store. With her innate business genius, she earned the admiration of Master Jiang, who took her as his adoptive daughter and gave her the surname Jiang. Ten years later, Jiang Yan enters the fray by marrying Ye Ruomei's stepson, turning the two former confidantes into mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Amidst bitter clashes, they unravel misunderstandings and join forces to unmask the true culprit. Yet beneath the truth lies an even darker conspiracy entangling the imperial court, the crown prince, and the vassal kings.
