My Hard-Earned Money Was Swindled, One Shovel in the Mountains Turned My Life Around
Zhou Lei sold the land of his ancestral home to his uncle by marriage to build a factory. They agreed that once the factory was up and running, he would receive 50,000 yuan for the land. With his younger sister's university tuition still unpaid, Zhou Lei took the opportunity of Wang Houde's housewarming banquet to demand the money in public. Wang tossed him 3,000 yuan and drove him out like a beggar, declaring that in this town, he was the one who made the rules. With no other way out, Zhou Lei dug out the notebook left by his grandfather and discovered that his family had cultivated the rare, top-grade Leizhenzi mushrooms in the Black Dragon Cave. He recruited his childhood friend Huzi to risk their lives venturing into the mountains. Along the way, Wang Houde's men ambushed them to steal their find, but Zhou Lei outsmarted them and escaped by taking advantage of the terrain.
