Season 1 of A Clear Sky Beneath One Umbrella tells the story of Hua Xiaoman, a young woman who brings an old umbrella left behind by her grandmother and travels to the Cheng family's umbrella shop, hoping to have it repaired. Determined to preserve the cherished umbrella that holds so many memories, she stays at the shop to become an apprentice. Under the guidance of Cheng Muyan, a reserved and taciturn umbrella craftsman, she learns traditional skills such as splitting bamboo strips, boiling tung oil, and mounting umbrella fabric. As the two spend their days together, they look after a traditional oil-paper umbrella shop and carry on a five-generation-old craft. From splitting bamboo and making umbrellas to taking on apprentices and passing down their skills, they remain true to the spirit of craftsmanship amid the warmth and bustle of the old streets. Along the way, a gentle and enduring affection blossoms between them, as they create a clear sky beneath one umbrella, a world of their own.

A primeira temporada de Um Céu Limpo Sob Um Só Guarda-Chuva conta a história de Hua Xiaoman, uma jovem que leva um velho guarda-chuva deixado pela avó e se dirige à loja de guarda-chuvas da família Cheng, atraída pela sua reputação, para o mandar reparar. Determinada a conservar aquele velho guarda-chuva carregado de recordações, decide ficar na loja e tornar-se aprendiz para aprender o ofício. Sob a orientação de Cheng Muyan, um artesão de guarda-chuvas reservado e pouco falador, aprende a cortar tiras de bambu, a ferver óleo de tungue e a aplicar o tecido na estrutura do guarda-chuva. Os dois passam os dias juntos, cuidando de uma loja de guarda-chuvas tradicionais de papel oleado e preservando uma arte antiga transmitida ao longo de cinco gerações.
