A Spoon of Green Onion, Breaking an Eight-Year Partnership
At a restaurant operated in partnership for eight years, because Niu Bayi gave a regular customer an extra spoon of green onion, he was publicly humiliated by his partner couple and driven away through audited ledgers and forced departure. After leaving, relying on his genuine craftsmanship and clear, fair pricing, he started anew in a small alley shop; meanwhile, the villain couple ruined their business with fake soup, inferior meat, and short weights, and even instigated their apprentice to make trouble behind the scenes. Facing a group-meal bulk-order crisis, Niu Bayi held firm to the bottom line of food safety and got through the difficulties with the help of the neighbors. In the end, the evildoers were punished, and Niu Bayi built his small shop into the Bayi Restaurant.
