Su San, an oiled-paper umbrella artisan guarding the ancient town's last umbrella shop, meets Lu Yu, a photographer who specializes in rainy scenes. At first, Lu Yu merely treats the oiled-paper umbrellas as photo props, but witnessing the ancient crafting techniques helps him truly understand the soul of the craft. When their collaborative exhibition hits setbacks and a rainstorm destroys the workshop, they rely on notes left by Uncle San to create rain-glow umbrellas that shimmer in the rain. Supported by courier A Kuai, young Xiao San, and nearby neighbors, Umbrella Destiny Studio opens successfully. The craft workshop goes viral, revitalizing tradition through cultural tourism, as Su San continues the craft notes to let oiled-paper umbrellas thrive in Umbrella Alley.
