A Farewell to Mountains and Rivers in Error - Season 2
Heavy snow falls all over Dijing, and the Zhenbei General Gu Beichen pacifies the northern border and returns in triumph. In his youth under the pear blossom tree, he once made a promise of ten miles of red dowry, but upon his return, his beloved Su Jin had already received an imperial decree to enter the palace, conferred as Imperial Concubine Jin. The streets and markets all spread rumors that she betrayed their old affection, yet her magnificent palace attire cannot conceal her solitary courage in entering the game with her very body. Above the court, the emperor is suspicious, the empress dowager sets traps, and the imperial clan surrounds them, while old cases resurface and stir up violent waves. Although Gu Beichen holds heavy military power, he is obstructed by a palace wall, making it hard to protect her safety all around. The grand ceremony for appointing the crown prince is on the verge of a storm, and the two watch over each other within the vortex of power plots, pushing aside layers of thick fog to clear their deep grievances. When the turmoil of the mountains and rivers settles, they finally break through the game and step out together, hand in hand walking toward a new life.
