A Cart of Rotten Fruit Reflects Human Hearts
Fruit industry female chairperson Liang Qiuping pushes half a cart of apples mixed with good and bad ones, pretending to be poor to test her prospective daughters-in-law. Two successive daughters-in-law show disgust on the street, force the sale of the old house, and demand a bride price, revealing their true colors one after another. Night market vendor Jiang Li invites her to eat fruit, refunds her three hundred, would rather pawn her late mother's dowry bracelet than touch the thirty thousand hidden at the bottom of the basket. When identity is exposed, Jiang Li pushes back the betrothal gifts, saying apples can be picked, but I do not let people pick me. She walks into Liang's herself, cuts open the brown-hearted rotten fruit with a single knife, and restores innocence to the fruit growers.
