One Step Back Could Be an Abyss
Meng Tang's car is scratched six times by her seven-year-old neighbor's child in the underground parking garage. The first five times, she swallows her anger without saying a word or posting in the residents' group chat. Instead, she changes her parking angle, pays out of pocket to install a dashcam, and even visits the family in person, hoping for nothing more than an apology. On the sixth occasion, she asks only for 6,760 yuan to cover the repainting costs. But what she gets in return is verbal abuse, malicious rumors, and a threatening letter slipped through the crack beneath her door. She starts recording conversations, taking screenshots, checking surveillance footage, and preserving evidence. Step by step, she tears away the layers of deception covering the property manager, the neighboring family, and the headquarters' legal department. They used up all six chances themselves.
