A Thought of Kindness Illuminates the World
At the age of sixteen, the herb-gathering girl Liu Xiaoman picks up a discarded, broken Guanyin statue in the wind and snow, only to discover unexpectedly that the life-saving medicine her younger brother drank is actually a death-dealing poison. Facing a conspiracy set up by unscrupulous merchants, the shielding of corrupt officials, and a crisis encompassing the entire town, she relies on an unyielding kind heart that refuses to stand by and watch someone die, step by step uncovering the truth behind her father's death. She saves the deity for a stretch, and the deity protects her for a lifetime; yet what truly illuminates the world has never been golden statues and incense, but rather a single thought of kindness that remains unextinguished even in desperate straits.
