A Dry Well
On her deathbed, the mother-in-law divides the family assets, leaving the house and 500,000 yuan in demolition compensation to her eldest son, while giving only a copper key and the dry well in the backyard to Lin Xia and her husband, who have devoted eight years to caring for her. She orders them to seal the well and forbids them from opening it for three years. The eldest brother and his wife take all the benefits but show no gratitude or compassion, while Lin Xia and her husband struggle through difficult times in their dilapidated old home. Over the next three years, disasters strike one after another, and despite others coveting what they have, the couple remains true to their promise. When the three-year deadline finally arrives, silver dollars and an ancestral secret recipe emerge from the dry well. Guided by their good hearts, they lead the entire village toward prosperity.
