A Breakfast Reveals Human Hearts
Male protagonist Zhou Jianchuan takes workers to eat at a breakfast restaurant, but boss Zhao Guifa makes things difficult for nearly sixty-year-old Lao He over a dish of salted vegetables, and even changes his mind temporarily to charge money for free condiments. Zhou Jianchuan immediately settles the bill and leads the workers to leave en masse. Unexpectedly, Zhao Guifa uses moldy flour to make steamed buns, causing the workers to get diarrhea, and maliciously spreads rumors to frame Zhou Jianchuan for being stingy. Zhou Jianchuan finds the Lin Family Restaurant, which operates with clearly marked prices and honesty, to cooperate with, and simultaneously reports Zhao Guifa for illegal operation. Zhao Guifa is finally fined and suspended from business. At last, the project ends, the bills are cleared, and people disperse. Zhou Jianchuan returns to the Lin Family Restaurant in the twilight, and that bowl of hot soup hides the most simple human warmth.
