A Fierce Concubine Meets a Tender Emperor: Entering the Palace to Be Pampered as Empress
Jiang Fei is eight feet tall and powerfully built. Because her physique differs from ordinary people, she is repeatedly rejected, yet during the selection, she is uniquely doted on by the handsome and delicate young Emperor Shen Zhaoning. Uninterested in inner palace struggles, she stirs up numerous amusing incidents and is accused by various concubines, but the emperor consistently protects her. Mistakenly believing the emperor pampers her to suppress the powerful official Pei Shi'an, Jiang Fei becomes disheartened and wishes to leave the palace. Ultimately, the two uncover their childhood bond from saving each other in Yanwei Alley, and misunderstandings are cleared up. Shen Zhaoning rectifies the imperial court, resolves inner palace entanglements, dismisses the concubines to keep only Jiang Fei, and together they pacify border troubles and benefit the people's livelihood. Jiang Fei uses her own strength to assist in state affairs, and after Shen Zhaoning abdicates, the two live together happily among the common folk.
