A Broken Pot Keeps the Great Feast in Check
At ten, Chen Feng was already wielding a wok in the kitchen. On the seventh day after his grandfather Chen Dehai's death, his uncle Chen Dashan divided the family estate, seizing Juxianglou, 36 sets of purple-bronze cooking utensils, and 90,000 yuan in working capital, leaving Chen Feng with nothing but a broken pot. Armed with his grandfather's secret recipes and half of an old agreement, Chen Feng starts from scratch by catering a feast of pork offal for just 30 yuan. Chen Dashan joins forces with Zhou Jingtang to cut off his supplies, poison his food, and smash his shop. But Chen Feng safeguards his craft and exposes their schemes. In the end, he defeats famous chefs in a cooking competition using a sabotaged, broken stove and inferior salt, exposing Chen Dashan and Zhou Jingtang's plot to steal the restaurant's famous brand. He reclaims Juxianglou, returns its sign to its rightful owner, and reopens the restaurant with Su Yao.
