A Little Concubine, Supporting the Entire Household
For ten taels of silver, Cui Xi is sent by her own mother into the Minister's household. She thinks she is going there to become a concubine, but little does she know that what the legal wife has taken a liking to is her sharp tongue, famous for scolding everyone in the county! Minister Zhou Yan is an upright man, yet he always gives way to others. His colleagues bully him, his half-brother runs wild, and everyone dares to walk all over him. The moment Cui Xi enters the household, she talks back on the master's behalf and stands up for the old madam, making life difficult for those who bully the weak. Unexpectedly, a written accusation draws everyone into a grain-relief embezzlement case. With layers of forged accounts and evidence destroyed by fire, she uses her knowledge of rural life to help investigate the case. She also gradually teaches the Zhou family, who are accustomed to swallowing their grievances, to finally speak up for themselves!
