A Test of the Human Heart
Gu Changshan, chairman of the Gu Group, disguises himself as a poor old street sweeper to find a genuinely kind-hearted granddaughter-in-law for his grandson, Gu Mingxuan. He deliberately puts several young women to the test, one by one, at a vegetable market, an old dormitory, and a fried rice stall. The first two women are eliminated: one finds him dirty, while the other considers him a burden. Then he meets Lin Qiuyue, a young woman who sells fried rice by the roadside. She offers him a hot meal, helps him clean up his dilapidated home, and deposits the 40,000 yuan she finds back into the bank without keeping a single cent.
