Understand the Grievance She Hides Amid Everyday Life
After working overtime, I come home to find my wife cooking eight dishes in the kitchen with our feverish daughter on her back. The fever medicine is buried beneath a bag of potato chips, while four adults sit around watching TV and cracking sunflower seeds. Not one of them lifts a finger to help. I unplug the TV, pick up my daughter, who has a dangerously high fever, and rush her to the emergency room. That night, I confront my family. The down payment on our house came from my wife's savings, and the money for my family's surgery came from the late nights she spent earning money designing drawings. Our entire family's comfortable lifestyle and dignity depend on her alone. With an annual salary of 500,000 yuan, I establish strict family rules: I will never let my wife suffer another moment of injustice.
