Feigned Companionship Hides Selfish Intentions
Zhou Jinyan and Xu Jing had been trying to conceive for two years and underwent IVF. On the day of her egg retrieval, the doctor informed them that there were abnormal residual traces before the procedure, suggesting that Xu Jing had recently had intercourse. But the couple had been sleeping in separate rooms for a long time. After investigating, Zhou Jinyan discovered that Xu Jing had rekindled her romance with her childhood sweetheart, Shen Jiashu, while her best friend, Tang Qian, helped cover up their affair. Xu Jing kept pretending to cooperate with their efforts to have a baby while secretly taking birth control pills. She only agreed to IVF when the Zhou family threatened to redistribute their property and shares if they had no descendants. After gathering all the evidence, Zhou Jinyan confronted Xu Jing and demanded a divorce before the embryo transfer. Xu Jing lost everything on both fronts. Zhou Jinyan moved on from the betrayal and began an honest relationship with Lin Xiao, a straightforward and sincere woman. Together, they built a family, welcomed a daughter, and found lasting happiness as a family of three.
