Half a Lifetime of Helping in Exchange for a Single Report
The Zhao family supported their neighbor, the Han family, for many years, but was reported by Han's grandson, Han Daniu, for drying grain on the road, resulting in a 3,000-yuan fine. To forge a persona as a noble son from a humble background, Han Daniu edited videos to slander the Zhao family for beating people and ruining their reputation, and also forged Zhao Shoutian's signature and fingerprint, misappropriating his identity to scam a scholarship. The Zhao family no longer endured it in silence, proving their innocence with years of assistance receipts and on-site recordings. In the end, Han Daniu's scholarship was canceled and he made a public self-examination; the Zhao family restored their reputation, Zhao Shoutian took the lead in leveling the abandoned drying ground and established village rules, and his son Zhao Tinglan was admitted to a key university. Relying on work-study programs, Han Daniu paid off his debts, and the two families completely severed all human and emotional ties.
