Programmer Jiang Baili collapses while working overtime and wakes up in the body of another young man with the same name. The original owner treated his adopted younger sister, Xia Muling, as an outlet for his anger. Faced with the girl's old bruises covering her body and her excessively cautious behavior, Jiang Baili realizes that he has inherited a broken life. He begins by giving up alcohol, finding work, paying off debts, and trying to suppress the violent temper lingering in his body. As Xia Muling returns to school and picks up her paintbrush again, both of them gradually emerge from the shadows of their painful past through the choices they make every day.
