Li Mianmian relives a lifetime, returning to the day her mother-in-law exploited her. In this life, she no longer tolerates it. In questa vita lei non subisce più. Ma quando alla suocera viene diagnosticato un cancro terminale, i cinquecentomila yuan di denaro salvavita messi insieme dal marito con tanta fatica vengono da lei trasferiti a un parente che implora in ginocchio i soldi per il matrimonio.
