I See the Guards Are So Alluring
Lu Yunxi, the legitimate daughter of the Grand General's mansion, has practiced martial arts with the army since childhood and has a dashing and unrestrained personality. Dissatisfied with her parents' arranged marriage, she mistakenly believed her fiancé, Wen Ruyu, was a weak bookworm who could not truss a chicken. On the day of their engagement, she fled the marriage, disguised herself as a man under the pseudonym Lu Qi (initially called Laomo), wanting to make her own way in the world. Little did she know that Wen Ruyu outwardly appears to be a bullied seventh-rank county magistrate of the Wen family, but is actually the current Right Chancellor appointed by the Emperor and head of the Censorate. Because his parents died early and the family property was usurped by the second branch, he went incognito and endured in Jiangnan, secretly investigating a major corruption case involving salt and tea. To reclaim the family property, the clan elders forced him to marry and set up a household, which is why he made the engagement agreement with the Lu family.
