A sixty-year-old poor scholar, Chen Mu, had his ancestral graveyard seized by a bully. With his legs broken and abandoned in the deep mountains, he fortuitously encountered a spiritual fruit and an ancestral vital-energy jade pendant; slaying demons allowed him to absorb vital energy to strengthen his body. Wielding his ancestral tiger-head broadsword, he returned home to punish the wicked, by chance entered the Demon Extermination Office, and all the way slashed snake demons and smashed evil strongholds, learning that the Black Wind Mountain demon king intended to slaughter the city and abduct children. The old scholar abandoned his brush and ink to lift the long saber, stepping into the demon mountains with his decrepit body, relying on the jade pendant and the Eight Desolations Skill to fight against the demons and monsters of the world and the human-eating villains.
