Twenty-five years ago, Fu Yanshan was separated from his son and daughter. Over the years, while running his business, he never stopped searching for them. At last, he found his daughter, Lin Wan, in the old district, where she runs a small restaurant. Not wanting to disrupt her life, he stays at her restaurant as an ordinary elder, helping out and gradually getting closer to her through the companionship of three meals a day. Il y a vingt-cinq ans, Fu Yanshan a été séparé de son fils et de sa fille. Pendant toutes ces années, tout en dirigeant son entreprise, il n'a jamais cessé de les rechercher. Finalement, il retrouve sa fille, Lin Wan, dans le vieux quartier, où elle tient un petit restaurant. Pour ne pas bouleverser sa vie, il reste dans l'établissement en se faisant passer pour un simple homme âgé, lui prêtant main-forte et se rapprochant peu à peu d'elle en partageant les trois repas quotidiens. Son fils, Lin Xuan, rencontre lui aussi des difficultés sur le chemin de l'entrepreneuriat. Après leurs retrouvailles, le père et le fils se soutiennent mutuellement et grandissent ensemble. Un bol de nouilles chaudes, une vieille table et une famille réunie autour d'elle. Ces retrouvailles, qui arrivent avec vingt-cinq ans de retard, racontent une histoire de liens familiaux, de persévérance et de la force de bien vivre.
