On Qingming Festival, Jiang Ziyao brings her boyfriend of two years, Lu Jingchen, home to pay respects to her deceased grandparents. Unexpectedly, right after Lu Jingchen finishes bowing to the portrait, her grandfather, who passed away five years ago, suddenly explodes in the family group chat, ordering Jiang Ziyao to break up immediately. Grandfather then loses contact, leaving behind only a last word message with the character "Escape". Though reluctant, Jiang Ziyao firmly believes her grandfather would never harm her, and immediately breaks up with Lu Jingchen. Inopinément, juste après que Lu Jingchen a fini de s'incliner devant le portrait funéraire, son grand-père décédé depuis cinq ans explose dans le groupe de discussion de la famille, ordonnant à Jiang Ziyao de rompre immédiatement. Dès lors, le grand-père reste injoignable, ne laissant derrière lui qu'un testament portant le mot « Fuis ». Bien que le cœur de Jiang Ziyao balance, elle est fermement convaincue que son grand-père ne lui veut pas de mal ; elle rompt donc sur-le-champ avec Lu Jingchen et s'enfuit avec ses parents en pleine nuit vers la vieille maison de campagne et le temple taoïste de son petit oncle. Contre toute attente, Lu Jingchen utilise un tatouage de repérage et les indices vidéo publiés en ligne par un « Maître Céleste » pour la traquer pas à pas, allant jusqu'à amener des gens pour la pourchasser, défoncer la porte et réclamer sa vie. Quel est donc le véritable objectif de Lu Jingchen, et Jiang Ziyao parviendra-t-elle à s'échapper vivante.
