Returning Home to Grow Corn: Winning Against 300 Pigs with Wisdom
Discharged soldier Chen Deshui returns to his hometown and leases a thousand mu of mountain land to grow corn. But Li Yougen, the local village bully, deliberately drives 300 free-ranging pigs into his cornfield, trampling his crops. With help from his former army comrades, Chen protects his corn with scent barriers and uses whistle signals and soybean pulp to train the pigs, turning the entire herd against Li Yougen's commands. Li Yougen and his mother repeatedly resort to dirty tricks, stealing corn, scattering broken glass and setting fires in the middle of the night. Chen foils every scheme with surveillance cameras and his guard dogs, eventually bringing the mother and son to justice for arson. Later, when he faces extreme heat and industrial wastewater discharged from an upstream chemical plant, Chen overcomes each crisis through scientific management, community solidarity and livestreamed appeals for justice.
