Liu Gangqiang, an aquaculture farmer, has supplied premium yellow croaker to restaurant owner Gao Dashan for twenty years. But Gao's son, Gao Fei, abuses his power to force prices down and refuses to accept fresh fish. Gao Dashan also betrays their long-standing friendship, switching to inferior dead fish and pre-made dishes. Together with fishmongers, the two men deliberately suppress Liu's business and even bribe an anti-counterfeit blogger to cover up scandals involving their ingredients. Liu Gangqiang carefully lays his plans, builds his own canning factory to expand his sales channels, and gathers all the evidence of their use of spoiled ingredients and poisoning of his fish ponds. In the end, Gao Dashan and his son are sentenced to prison for poisoning, and the restaurant is transferred to Liu Gangqiang to settle their debts. Years later, Liu Gangqiang runs his business with integrity, owns a chain of restaurants, and is honored as an entrepreneur of conscience.
