We Partnered to Open a Company, Made Two Million, and Split Twenty Thousand With Me
My older male cousin and I partnered to start a construction company, agreeing from the beginning to split the profits equally. The company eventually made a net profit of two million, but driven by his greed, my cousin gave me a mere two hundred thousand and pocketed most of the earnings. After seeing his true, avaricious nature, I decisively walked away and started my own business. With my solid reputation for quality construction work and reliable connections, my new company quickly secured a steady stream of orders and continued to grow. Meanwhile, without my technical expertise and customer base, my cousin's projects began failing one after another, his cash flow completely dried up, and before long, his company went bankrupt, leaving him in a miserable state.
