In pursuit of her cinematic dreams, Huai opera actress An Lu encounters a crisis at her first film audition, only to be rescued by Zhou Li'an, a New Fourth Army soldier who traveled forward in time from 1941. Mistaking him for an informant sent by her father—who believes "the stage is bigger than the heavens"—to keep tabs on her, An Lu remains suspicious. Meanwhile, Zhou Li'an marvels at modern prosperity, yet desperately seeks his lost arm badge so he can return to 1941. Where is the badge? Can An Lu trust his identity? And why has a traitor from that wartime era also crossed over into the modern day? Surrounded by mystery, what lies ahead for these two young souls?
