What She Took Wasn't Just a Shrimp, It Was My Dignity
At a hotpot dinner, my boyfriend's female sworn-brother of twelve years publicly pinched and took the last prawn in his bowl. Everyone at the table urged me to be magnanimous, but my boyfriend instead blamed me for making the atmosphere awkward. Public cross-boundary probings, a nostalgia Moments visible only to him, late-night emotional calls for help, covert provocations at the hospital—everyone demanded my forbearance, yet no one cared about my grievance. I did not throw a hysterical quarrel; I preserved evidence for a public showdown. When my boyfriend still prioritized defending others, I grew completely cold at heart, quietly stepped away, and decisively ended this draining relationship.
