After the floodwaters of the Bailong River rose, a white-haired infant drifted to the ancient ferry in a battered water vat. While the villagers were filled with suspicion and dread, only Liu Guiniang took the baby into her home, naming him Shuisheng. Ten years later, Shuisheng gradually discovered his ability to hear water and sense aquatic veins, gradually unraveling his origins tied to the underwater palace of the Bailong River. Years later, when a catastrophic deluge struck, the seventeen-year-old Shuisheng stepped forward toward the breached dam without hesitation. At that critical moment, myriad aquatic beings gathered to assist him, transforming the once-misunderstood child into a guardian of the local people. Yet behind all the divine legends, in his heart he recognized only Liu Guiniang as his true mother.
