Lin Xiaoyu scored over 600 points on the Gaokao, but inexplicably slipped down to a junior college. Her mother, Wang Chunmei, supported her younger brother for twenty years—paying for his schooling, helping him marry, and building him a house. Little did she expect that her brother's family would take advantage of her daughter's illness to secretly alter her college choices and steal her rural recommendation quota to pave the way for their own son. At the celebratory banquet, the sister-in-law openly demands money and humiliates the mother and daughter before the entire village. This time, Wang Chunmei refuses to back down, bringing evidence to demand an on-site verification from the authorities. A banquet watched by the whole village turns into the stage where the truth comes to light—she will reclaim her daughter's stolen future, bit by bit.
