Whoever Gets the House Takes the Responsibility
When the Chen family's old house is demolished, they receive two replacement apartments and 800,000 yuan in compensation. The parents give everything to their younger son, Chen Yu, leaving only 20,000 yuan for their eldest son, Chen Feng, while also demanding that he renovate his younger brother's new apartment for free. Having dropped out of school years ago to support his family and sacrificed so much, Chen Feng finally comes to his senses. He leaves with his wife and relies on his electrical skills to establish himself at a factory. Meanwhile, Chen Yu's renovation work creates hidden safety hazards, and his business venture leaves him drowning in debt. Their father injures himself after trying to save money on moving expenses. The family repeatedly pressures Chen Feng to bail them out, but he refuses every time. Eventually, his parents realize their mistakes and apologize. Chen Feng maintains firm boundaries while fulfilling his duty to care for his parents, refusing to keep paying his younger brother's bills. In the end, he and his wife buy a new home of their own, while Chen Yu finally learns to take responsibility for himself.
