Betrayed by his apprentice who severed his safety rope, engineer Yue Chuan plunged into a glacial crevasse, while his entire family perished in the apocalypse. When his pocket watch reverses time, he is reborn 45 days before the onset of the nuclear winter, awakening a dimensional storage space. In this life, he sells property, takes out loans, stockpiles all supplies across the city, and transforms an unfinished building complex into an apocalyptic fortress. Pretending to sign that fatal falsified report, he lures the corrupt contractor and treacherous apprentice step-by-step into a deadly trap of his own making. As the endless night falls and the city loses all power, his home remains brightly lit with the aroma of simmering stew. Everything owed to him from his past life will be repaid in full, principal and interest alike.
