Whose Chicken Entered Whose Vegetable Garden
After Meng Zhixian returns to her hometown, starting from the neighborhood dispute over "chickens scratching the vegetable garden," she insists on first investigating the facts and then discussing responsibility. As conflicts such as pigs rooting up crops, boundary disputes, public drying grounds, water wells, and flood discharge ditches appear one after another, she also grows from someone who only "talks reasoning" into a person who knows how to balance human feelings, reality, and shared responsibility. In the end, the villagers of Nanhewan learn to look clearly first and speak later, safeguarding fairness in disputes and also preserving neighborhood affection.
