Yanyan, three and a half years old, is a little child in Huaihua Village. She does not overthink and says what is on her mind. Her grandma protects her shortcomings, her uncle spoils her, and her parents discipline her with words only to surrender in the end. Quando aveva poco più di un anno, ha salvato Chunni che era caduta in acqua, e da allora sono diventate migliori amiche. È birichina e adorabile, e se ne esce spesso con frasi memorabili che fanno ridere a crepapelle tutta la famiglia. La nonna la protegge, lo zio la vizia, e i genitori la sgridano a parole per poi arrendersi completamente alla fine. Con la schiettezza infantile, fa a pezzi la facciata ipocrita degli adulti e cura innumerevoli ansie sociali. Non sa cosa significhi adulare; sa solo una cosa: la mia gente, devo occuparmene io; le cose sbagliate, le dico.
