A brother and sister in the mountains happen to meet a golden-haired little monkey trapped in a stone crevice, take out half a sweet potato to give a helping hand, and join forces to rescue the little monkey out of danger. The little monkey leads the brother and sister to find a mysterious bronze ancient jar, and thereupon moves into the home of the brother and sister. The little monkey possesses special abilities, can listen and distinguish underground water streams, and can exert effort to assist village neighbors. When everyone encounters mountain springs breaking their flow and flash flood dangers, the little monkey steps forward time and time again, exhausting all its strength to guard the village. After the crisis passes, the little monkey falls into a deep sleep, and the brother and sister carefully guard the ancient jar and patiently wait. Until spring comes, the little monkey finally awakens and returns, and the few of them continue to accompany each other and spend their days together.
