The Yongchang Marquis Household Doesn't Raise Suckers
A modern woman transmigrates into the body of Zhou Wantang, the matriarch of the Yongchang Marquis household. She knows from the original story that her second daughter, Zhou Mingyu, is blinded by love and will squander the family's entire fortune of 45,000 taels to support Chen Jingxing, a scheming scholar, ultimately bringing about the downfall of the entire household. Determined to change her former weak ways, she publicly audits the accounts and reclaims the family's shops and estates, standing firm against the Marquis, the Grand Madam, and the entire second branch of the family, who all take sides and pressure her. After uncovering Chen Jingxing's schemes of fraudulent marriages, financial scams, currying favor with powerful nobles, and falsely accusing the Marquis household, she gathers the evidence and reports him to the authorities, resulting in a sixteen-year prison sentence. Confined and sent to the countryside to manage the family estates, Zhou Mingyu finally comes to her senses and learns how to manage a household. Zhou Wantang makes up the financial shortfall, puts the inner household in order, safeguards the foundations of the Marquis household, refuses to support fools at the family's expense, and ensures the safety and stability of the entire family.
