You Want Profits, I Protect Human Lives
Jin Qiu, an award-winning construction foreman, has spent eight years in the renovation industry. With exceptional craftsmanship and a firm refusal to cut corners for homeowners, he has built the industry's most reputable construction team. But his boss, Boss Zhang, profits by attracting customers with low prices and skimping on materials. He withholds 200,000 yuan in wages from the entire team and orders them to use substandard boards containing carcinogens. Furious, Jin Qiu resigns, only to be maliciously slandered by Boss Zhang and left unable to find even small jobs. With nowhere else to turn, he still refuses to compromise his principles. He wins back the trust of Lao Wang, a coworker who had been bribed, and teams up with independent designer Su Xiao to renovate old homes, gradually turning things around. Enraged by their success, Boss Zhang joins forces with suppliers to cut off materials and spread rumors, even using counterfeit boards to stage a formaldehyde poisoning incident and frame Jin Qiu.
