Youyou, Raising the Whole Village Across Two Realms
The Great Zhou suffers consecutive years of famine, and the common people are starving as they flee for survival. Four-and-a-half-year-old little Youyou follows the village elders on the flight from famine, stumbling by mistake into a "fairy nest" where melons and vegetables cover the ground with no one picking them, fish and meat pile up like mountains, and big iron chests can spit out padded jackets and quilts. Vegetables can be picked at will? Quilts can be taken at random? Fish and meat are as cheap as being given away for free? The vegetable-selling granny crams red berries into her hands, the steamed bun granny crams big meat buns into her hands, and the vegetable-picking grandpa tucks tender vegetable hearts into her arms. Little Youyou holds her broken bowl and is dumbfounded: the good things in this place can actually be eaten and taken away, and carried back to the mountain col? While others flee famine to beg for food, she flees famine to "stock up on goods".
