Yuhe Village Neighbors: The Boy of a Hundred Beasts in a Year of Drought
In a mountain village suffering through a severe drought, a boy befriends all kinds of beasts and possesses the ability to summon clouds and rain to nourish the fields. In secret, he enlists the animals to carry water and help his neighbors irrigate their crops. A gentle drizzle saves the withering seedlings, but also sparks a confrontation between two villages fighting over water. Using the animal herds to mediate and reason to persuade, he brings the conflict to an end. When the county authorities pressure him to serve as an official, he politely refuses. Instead, he leads the entire village in digging canals and diverting spring water, finally protecting their homeland before the rainy season arrives.
