Mother-in-law Zheng Guifang goes to the city to help out in the household of her son Su Jianping, enduring long-term scheming from daughter-in-law Hou Yalin, brother-in-law Hou Liang, and mother-in-law Pan Meiyun. Su Jianping accidentally checks the accounts and discovers that their family's wealth is constantly being subsidized to Hou Yalin's natal family relatives. Hou Yalin uses old-age care to coerce Zheng Guifang, forcing her to persuade her son not to divorce, which is met with a firm refusal from Zheng Guifang. Later, through appraisal, the involved contract shows traces of forgery and retroactive filling, and the truth is finally revealed.
