Lin Xia, a young teacher in Sanwan, accidentally discovers a spatio-temporal mailbox. Reunited with her first love, Song Linchuan, after emotional misunderstandings, she communicates across a century with Xiao Hua through the mailbox, resolving to face her feelings and career head-on. Meanwhile, Lin Xia's half-brother, fragile college student He Jiang, goes on a study tour to Sanwan after failing classes. He stumbles upon a 1927 letter from war correspondent Jiang He and decides to help his Alzheimer's-stricken grandmother clear the name of his great-grandfather, who was misunderstood as a deserter. Through volunteering as a rural teacher, He Jiang undergoes personal growth and eventually discovers his great-grandfather was actually Wang Er, a heroic sniper. In the end, He Jiang, Lin Xia, and Song Linchuan take a commemorative photo with the final "Letter from Sanwan," echoing Sanwan from a century ago.
