In the winter of the 1960s, brother and sister Su Jin and Su Xiaoxiao from Su Family Village suddenly suffer a family catastrophe: their father mysteriously disappears, and their mother becomes bedridden after a difficult delivery giving birth to twin boys. The family of five is on the brink of despair in their dilapidated thatched cottage. In this critical moment, Su Xiaoxiao's blood accidentally awakens the Door God statue in the woodshed, opening a time portal connecting to modern times. Shuttle between the two worlds, the siblings first salvage bruised fruits and discarded vegetables from a modern market to satisfy their hunger, and later collect recyclables to earn money for essential supplies. With the help of kind-hearted people, they shoulder the family's burden, improving their livelihood while searching for their father, carving out a sky of hope for their loved ones between the two eras.
