A poor young woman, to resolve her family's plight, signs a labor contract and enters a manor to work hard. Unexpectedly, the mistress of the house raises an unreasonable demand, asking her to bear a child for the master. The girl firmly refuses, and is instead maliciously saddled with an exorbitant debt and subjected to disguised house arrest. She does not compromise, calmly gathers evidence, brings in witnesses for a confrontation, and exposes the masters' trick of tampering with the contract and inflating the debt.
