Chen Yu, a 38-year-old used-car inspector, has been married for thirteen years and turned over every penny of his salary, needing to explain even buying a twenty-yuan pack of cigarettes. A sudden inspection mishap leaves him jobless and on the hook for 166,000 yuan in compensation. With his marriage shattered, his reputation ruined, and only 18.72 yuan left in his bank account, Chen Yu hits rock bottom. Refusing to take the blame for someone else's wrongdoing, he relies on his thirteen years of expertise, clears his name with Xu Xiaoru's help, regains clients' trust, and founds his own vehicle inspection studio. From being afraid to charge clients to setting professional rates, and from blindly yielding to daring to say no, Chen Yu finally takes control of his own life.
