Across the street, a glamorous chain auto repair shop turns minor fixes into major bills, quoting 8,000 for a loose shift cable. Lao Chen squatted under the car, hooked it back in place, and charged eighty. His apprentice was poached by the competitor with double the salary, the landlord tripled his rent, and he faced blackmail, false reports, and fake tires set up to scam his loyal customers. He didn't make a scene, living by just one rule: fix what needs fixing, charge what it’s worth. Until one day, the very people he saved for eighty bucks lined up to shove the money back into his hands. This is the story of an old craftsman: you can earn less, but the rules must never be broken.
