Lin Rui, a fishing port youth, risked his life to explore highly productive fishing grounds, only to be betrayed and usurped by his partner Zhao Sihai, publicly humiliated, and driven away. Misfortunes never come singly: his mother fell critically ill and urgently needed surgery fees, but former friends and relatives looked on with cold indifference, and his lover turned away as well. Pushed to the brink, clutching his ancestral secret deep-sea manual, he steered a dilapidated fishing boat to brave the perilous open ocean, riding the waves and embarking on a road of comeback with solitary courage.
