Hongxia's sweet potato seedlings, which she cherishes like her own life, are repeatedly destroyed. She fiercely yells out at the village entrance and drags out the culprit—the honest and simple Tieniu. Instead of dodging responsibility, Tieniu takes the initiative to compensate her and help out with farm work, leaving a deep impression on Hongxia with his rustic integrity. Meanwhile, with enthusiastic matchmaking from Aunt Wang, Hongxia goes on a blind date with Zhang Dazhi, a college graduate full of pretension and pompous academic talk.
