When the Mooncore Lamp of Wudeng Village loses the Moon Soul and goes dark, a grey mist encroaches on the settlement. The youth Lin Mu sets off alone with a moon-patterned compass and a short staff. Along the way, he befriends the spirit beast A Wu, learning through misdirections and trials to observe calmly, judge with caution, and cooperate. In the end, they restore the Mooncore Lamp at the Canopy Ruins and bring the Moon Soul back to the summit altar, allowing silver radiance to bathe their home once more. Lin Mu also comes to realize that true bravery is not reckless bravado, but upholding duty in the face of hardship, treading each step with care, and bringing light to others through wisdom and perseverance.
