Gu Nian, a resigned urban veterinarian, returns to her hometown to take over a run-down clinic. On a rainy night, an injured red panda breaks in, awakening her empathetic ability to read memories simply by touching animals. Following clues passed on by small animals, she uncovers a poaching syndicate disguised as a cooperative. Facing threats and suppression from ringleader Zhao Dayong, Gu Nian teams up with forest ranger captain Zhou Xiao and villagers to gather evidence in secret, overcome dangers to collect material proof, smash the poaching dark operation in one fell swoop, transform the old clinic into a wildlife rescue station, and take root in the mountains to protect living creatures.
